Unveiling Our Butterfly Museum
Our history
The beginning of this dream that slept within me since childhood started back in 2000. My grandparents, parents and biology teachers cultivated my love for the nature of this place by talking to me about every living thing I saw in the area. I grew up with birds in the lagoon, butterflies in the fields and shells by the sea shore. As I grew up, I started to appreciate all these creatures and I got very upset when one species went missing the next year, and I saw others even more rarely. So, I decided to collect them over the years as a precious treasure of my country to show the future generations. This way I hope they become aware of this treasure of Divjaka and preserve it. - Altin Hila -
Photos of work over the years
It started with marine species, because they would trigger my interest by the seashore. As years went by, my love for nature and its creatures kept growing. With time, I started to study them. The loss of many species made me sad, so I started to preserve, protect and help multiply many of the endangered species (butterflies). In July 1st, 2020, my dream came true with the opening of this collection, where pupils, students, visitors and people passionate about nature enjoy so much information. -Altin Hila-

He is an outstanding professional—passionate, dedicated, and committed to giving everything to make your experience truly unique.”Posted on Paula ZigannTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Posted on John WalkerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We did their Adventurer service which was amazing. Honestly the effort, the care, the love and more that Altin, Alketa and Joel are contributing to the environment and wildlife of the Albanian Divjaka-Karavasta National Park is quite phenomenal. Plus their engagement with us was wonderful, we strongly recommend you attend, you will never forget it!Posted on Daniela VathiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The best experience we had in Albania. The best investment I made during my vacation in Albania was spending a day with Altin and Joel exploring the stunning nature of Divjaka National Park. I don’t have enough words to express my gratitude. I’m truly proud of Altin, and his son Joel is an exceptional young man—rare to find in Albania. It fills my heart with joy to know that there are still young people like him out there. I wholeheartedly recommend a tour with Altin and Joel. Absolutely fantastic!Posted on Melissa WolsinkTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a amazing time! Altin and his son Joel showed us different places around the park (not only nature). We went by foot, car and boat. They told a lot about the area and the plants and animals that are living in it. Verry nice and passionate people! The private collection is verry cool!Posted on Thibaud dPTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Joel and his dad Altin were really adorable, and prepared two half-days of magnificent tailor-made excursions for us to discover the surroundings of Divjaka (both natural sites selected for their viewpoints, flora and birds, and historical sites), which they know like the back of their hand, at a very reasonable price.Posted on Carla LangerakTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a very pleasant tour with Altin and his son Joel as our guids. Their knowledge of the park and the environment is enormous. Very nice people!Posted on R. I have been lucky enough to know Altin and visit his Museum of Natural History along with all the treasures that Divjakë-Karavasata offers. Altin, together with his wife Alketa, and other friends are promoting continuously the importance of nature, environment and local traditions among young and senior visitors from all over the world. Take a trip to Divjake and you will be surprised!
